The Library
Our work in Guyana has funded the construction and ongoing support of the Yupukari Public Library. Rather than imposing external development models, we provide support and scope to local choice, curiosity, and creativity.
The results speak for themselves: the primary-to-secondary school pass rate rose from near zero when we started in 2005 to 86% in 2019. This transformation demonstrates what's possible when communities are empowered with resources and support.

Initiatives
Launched in 2006, this annual all-day community event brings villagers together to rotate through educational activities hosted by teachers across multiple locations. A celebration of learning that engages the entire community.
Addressing the challenge that indigenous Macushi-speaking children learn to read in English, their second language. This initiative supports native language literacy while building bridges to English proficiency.
